Cunard's RMS Saxonia
The first of the famous 'Saxonia Sisters' 1954, Cunard Line
The Saxonia was built in 1954 and sailed under Cunard colours. Her extended route was from Liverpool to Montreal.
Throughout the years she was updated and painted green and then all white, sailing as a cruise ship. In 1973 she was sold to the Soviet Union and renamed Leonid Sobinov. A truly beautiful and graceful ship, she is depicted in this painting in her original form.
