Sail Away

It is a sad fate for a grand old lady. The world's most famous ocean liner, the Queen Elizabeth 2, will end her life in Dubai, in the Middle East.
This will be her final resting place. Sleep well, queen of the seas.
The QE2 was built at the John Brown Shipyard in Clydebank, in Scotland, between 1964 to 1967. She will retire in November next year to become a floating hotel at an artificial island, with the name of 'The Palm, Jumeirha'.
She was christened, by the Queen, with great ceremony, at a time, when Britannia might not rule the waves.
The QE2 has served queen and country to help recapture the Falkland Islands in 1982. She zig-zagged across the South Atlantic.
This passenger ship has clocked six million nautical miles. More than any other of her sisters in modern times.
This correspondent has sailed on the QE2 twice in his life. And he will never forget the experience.
Farewell.
