Rob's Mini Racing Page!

Well, its not racing exactly - only against the clock.  But its still fantastic fun, and both Charlie and I enjoy it immensely - he seems to be rather good at it!

The Scottish Job - May 1999

Called "The Scottish Job", this was a days racing I organised with the Scottish MX5 Club.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and another one is pencilled in for September - if I get around to doing something about it!

Kames Track Day, 9th May 1999
Just a tap on the brakes then power through the corner - tyres squealing with delight!
Look at Charlie leaning over to take the S-bend at high-speed!   You'd never guess he's got bog-standard suspension would you!
Charlie having slid over to the wrong side of the track since the previous photo - due mainly to his pathetic 145 Pirelli tyres - I'm just waiting for them to go bald so I can get some decent Yokohama 165/60s.

Kames Track Day, April 1999

For more information about Kames motorsport complex including a map of the track and directions of how to get there please follow this link to the superb "McMiata" web site of David & Ailsa.  They run the MX5 club in Scotland and got me involved in this racing lark - the Miata / MX5 / Roadster is my 2nd favourite car after the Mini...
