On October the fifth, 2008, the Queen Elizabeth 2 travelled to the
River Clyde for the last time ever.
The people of the West of Scotland turned out in their thousands to
welcome THEIR ship back home to the River that gave her life.
It was an amazing day covered in all the newspapers and on the
television. Hundreds of small boats and ships turned out to
welcome her home, and HMS Manchester and other Royal Navy ships were
present to add to the occasion. QE2 looked absolutely beautiful
and not ready to retire any time soon.
